(This website focuses on the Heart Strategy. The "Heart Strategy" is a method used to teach scholars how to internalize sight words.
Did you know that 86% of spelling patterns follow a regular pattern? Therefore, we no longer have to memorize sight words. Instead, we must learn the spelling rules of some parts and internalize the tricky parts. For example, (said) I can hear the sounds of 's and d', but (ai) is saying the short /e/ sound. Knowing these strategies is half the battle.)

Wilson Fundations is a systematic approach to learning the sounds that letters make. I've used Fundations with my scholars and my sons. This program teaches scholars specific spelling rules that support fluency and automaticity. Once scholars have the spelling rules, they can better apply them and read any word on sight.
The Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR) supports scholars in various capacities related to literacy. It is geared toward the literacy pillars while meeting the needs of all scholars.
Heggerty is a program that focuses on phoneme manipulation. Phoneme manipulation is the ability to play with sounds. For example, in the word bat, if I replace the first /sound with the /m/ sound, what new word did I make? Scholars must be able to manipulate sounds. Heggerty's program and parent-friendly videos support mastering letter-sound connection and sound manipulation.
